Vladimir Putin has signed a new law transferring control of a Russian crypto mining registry to the Federal Tax Service (FTS).

According to Izvestia, the FTS will oversee a registry of industrial crypto miners. Home-based miners will not need to register as long as they stay within energy usage limits.

The FTS has determined that full control is necessary for effective tax collection from crypto miners. The new law allows the FTS to monitor all transactions and sales related to industrial crypto miners.

This means Russian tax authorities will have access to detailed information about crypto asset movements, including transaction histories and identifier addresses.

Additionally, various government agencies, including Rosfinmonitoring and the Federal Security Service (FSB), can access this data and conduct searches or request information as needed.
