Uniswap is preparing to launch Unichain, its DeFi-focused Layer 2 solution built on the OP Stack, with a public mainnet debut set for early 2025.
The network, designed to boost scalability and efficiency in decentralized finance, has been tested on Ethereum’s Sepolia testnet since October.
During this time, the testnet processed over 50 million transactions, deployed 4 million smart contracts, and maintained 99% uptime across critical services.
Starting January 6, 2025, the Sepolia testnet will activate permissionless fault proofs, a feature also launching with the mainnet.
These proofs allow participants to verify the blockchain’s state and challenge invalid withdrawals, enhancing security and reliability.
Once safety validations are complete, the mainnet will enable users to bridge assets and access DeFi applications on Unichain.
